About Levi Andersen & House of Levity
Levi, born and raised in Durango, has been fascinated by the power of space since childhood—sketching homes from imagination and picturing the lives lived inside them. For Levi, interior design has always been more than aesthetic—it’s an emotional art form. A way of shaping how people feel in their daily lives. It’s about atmosphere, intention, and creating spaces that tell the truth about who we are and enforce who we hope to become.
As life unfolded, that passion dimmed. Levi followed other paths, searching for himself in places that never quite fit, in places that never truly felt like home. The spark never vanished, but it went quiet—waiting for him to remember. And eventually, through years of seeking, self-reflection, and slow healing, he found his way back to the quiet longing that had always lived inside him: to create beauty, to hold people with care, and to turn ordinary spaces into sacred ones. Thus, The House of Levity was born.
"A journey is a gift. Something to offer at the door to the rooms of your mind. This is how we journey far and can still always find something like home."
-Beyonce
Philosophy
Levi’s design philosophy is deeply influenced by the principles of Japanese design—where beauty is found in imperfection, materials are celebrated for their natural aging, and the home is seen as a living reflection of the self. He believes that interiors should align us with the rhythms of nature and time, not shield us from them. Rather than striving for static perfection, his work embraces the quiet elegance of authenticity: materials that are honest, tactile, true to their essence, and age gracefully with us. A home, in his view, should both reflect who we are and gently support who we’re becoming. It should help us move through life with grace—not resisting change, but riding its wave with intention and soul.
Why Levity?
Named after Levi himself—and a word he lives by—levity speaks to the paradox he holds dear: that the less seriously we grip life, the more gracefully it unfolds. Levi’s design approach is lighthearted yet reverent, rooted in the belief that beauty should feel spacious, soulful, and a little magical.
Experience & Education
Before formally entering the world of interior design, Levi spent over a decade working as a family assistant and nanny—living in and caring for many beautiful, high-end homes. This work gave him a unique, behind-the-scenes perspective on how a home truly functions, far beyond aesthetics. He has seen firsthand what works—and what doesn’t—when it comes to flow, comfort, and livability.
Working so intimately within people’s homes taught Levi the importance of discretion, trust, and emotional intelligence. Families allowed him into their private worlds, and he learned how to offer deep support while maintaining professionalism and boundaries. This ability to navigate intimate dynamics with care and respect is a vital part of his design process. When clients invite him into their homes, they can trust that their privacy will be honored, their lifestyle understood, and the details they share held in confidence.
Through his caregiving work, Levi also developed a keen understanding of how design intersects with real life—particularly with children and pets. A beautiful space must also be a practical one, and he has gathered invaluable insights over the years about how thoughtful design can help families coexist more harmoniously, with fewer frustrations and more flow.
Levi recently completed formal training through the Interior Design Institute, where he studied foundational topics including space planning, color theory, lighting, finishes, textiles, design history, working with clients, and the visual language of interiors. Combined with his lived experience, this education has prepared him to approach every project with both creative vision and practical know-how.
